Fairytale (Ages 3-4): These classes are for first year students.  Students will learn creative movement, ballet and jazz.  Students also learn classroom etiquette such as raising your hand, taking turns, and respecting others.  The classes are based on a new program called Leap and Learn.  Leap and Learn is a comprehensive early childhood dance program that provides consistency and structure, while being educational and fun.  It incorporates intellectual concepts of self-awareness, creative expression, imagination, basic body/health awareness, and teamwork through a variety of teaching methods. The classes are upbeat and stimulating. Drawing on the child’s wonderful imagination and boundless energy, the exercises are taught through song, story and role-playing. The class consists of one 45 minute class per week and performance in an end of the year recital.  Recital rehearsal is incorporated into weekly class.

The children will become familiar with two out of three disciplines of dance, tap, ballet, and/or jazz in every class. There are different levels to meet your child’s dance education needs, Combo 1, Combo 2, and Combo 3. The class consists of one 50 minute combination class per week and performance in the end of the year recital.  Recital rehearsal is incorporated into the weekly class.

Specialty Dance Classes

Ballet: Learn the classical art of ballet from professionally trained instructors. Our classes inspire the love of movement through graduated levels designed to teach awareness and respect for the body. We emphasize careful technical training that will enhance all physical endeavors (i.e. tap/jazz/modern dance, soccer, gymnastics etc.) and welcome all ages and levels, beginning to professional, regardless of previous training. We strive to nurture the desire to move joyfully and enrich the lives of our students. All students will be placed in the correct class as determined by the instructor. The class consists of one 50 minute class per week.

Jazz: Jazz is a style of dance that finds its roots in ballet, but was enhanced by musical trends, social dances, and the popularization of dance through movies and musicals. It can be percussive with intricate rhythm patterns or fluid with emotional intensity. These classes place an emphasis on isolating body parts, increased flexibility, and exhibition of individual personality. We offer classes for all ages and abilities. The class consists of one 50 minute class per week and performance in the end of the year recital. Recital rehearsal is incorporated into the weekly class.

Hip Hop: Get pumped up in Hip Hop learning the hottest new dance moves from your favorite hip hop/rnb/pop music film clips and original choreography. Hip Hop encompasses movement that has elements of poppin', locking, and breaking as well as freestyle movement to give students the opportunity to develop their own sense of style. The class includes a basic technique warm-up, basic hip hop moves, steps that travel across the floor, and combinations. While no previous training is required, classes will use basic body isolations found in other technique classes. The class consists of one 50 minute class per week and performance in the end of the year recital. Recital rehearsal is incorporated into the weekly class.

Conditioning and Stretching: Even the best sense of rhythm, the most careful technical training, and the most astute dance intuition are not enough to make a dancer truly excel; you also need focused strength, balance, and flexibility to execute the movements with power and grace. Conditioning for Dance improves your technique and performance in all dance forms by strengthening the body's core (abdominal and back muscles) while improving coordination, balance, and alignment and optimizing flexibility. The result is more lift without tension, deeper pliés, higher jumps with less effort, tighter turns, and improved extension and turnout. This class meets for 50 minutes per class.

Cheerleading: This class is recommended for students 4th-8th grade interested in cheerleading, are enthusiastic, and full of energy! The instructor teaches children the basic skills needed to advance in the sport of cheerleading. Your child will learn to use basic cheer motions to memorize cheers and master the art of performing them. Students will better their skills of jumping and tumbling, and begin learning stretching techniques. This class consists of a 45 minute class per week.
